Full Stack Lead Engineer

  • Who we are:
    Novel Health is a cloud based medical billing platform that leverages automation and AI to reduce the extremely manual and costly tasks of medical billing for U.S. based healthcare companies.  In addition, a data and action collection platform to provide predictive insights for billing companies, global BPO's and medical practices.

    Position summary:
    Novel Health is looking for a smart and engaging full stack engineering lead with experience defining, leading, and releasing development projects. Working collaboratively with Operations and Management team to define technical needs and coordinating with the development team to define and then execute on sprint work and key milestones. In this role we expect you to both build and direct other development resources.  You will be a contributor and leader responsible for ensuring that technical project timelines are defined and executed. We are interested in someone who is eager to work with a wide variety of technical and non-technical teams. You must have experience with ReactJS and Python.

    What we need you to do:

    Work with department leaders to define technical content and direction for product roadmap initiatives
    Understand and articulate technical trade offs and help negotiate the future state of our platform’s capabilities
    Define work breakdown and high level work effort estimates
    Coordinate across teams to define work prioritization and then manage execution against key milestones
    Attend scrum team refinements and planning meetings for key initiatives and platform capabilities
    Hold development teams accountable, provide feedback and be assertive constructively, especially as obstacles and issues emerge across the business
    Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that priority and focus is sufficient to complete the originally agreed upon scope
    Identify and report on issues that are impeding progress and coordinate with teams to develop mitigation plans
    Other duties as needed

    Experienced full stack developer
    5+ years of relevant professional experience managing complex, high-profile, cross team development projects
    Experience with sourcing, documenting and finalizing requirements for project
    History of developing technical stories and documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
    Familiarity with Architectural and Development best practices and how they fit into Software Development Lifecycle
    Natural curiosity and experience understanding, documenting and explaining complex concepts and systems
    Self-motivated, emotionally intelligent leader who can advocate for others and inspire creative solutions
    Excellent facilitator, communicator and collaborator
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or related field ideal
